The NPD Group Names David Pritchard to Head European Toys Business

PORT WASHINGTON, NEW YORK, November 18, 2008 – The NPD Group, a leading market research company, has named David Pritchard to head its European toys business.  He replaces Anna Scott, who is relocating to Brunei, thus leaving NPD.

Pritchard will lead NPD’s sales tracking businesses for the toys industry in Europe.  NPD’s EuroToys business offers the most comprehensive retail point-of-sale and consumer tracking for the industry, spanning nine countries, including France, UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Poland, and Portugal.  NPD also tracks the toys industry in North America and Australia-New Zealand.

Prior to this position, Pritchard was a vice president in NPD’s Entertainment & Communications group and led product management for NPD’s U.S. Toys business.    Before that, he was director for the firm’s Digital Insights business.  Before joining NPD, he was a digital media consultant for Synacor Inc.; senior director for entertainment at Terra Lycos for music, TV, and film; and senior director of marketing at Wired Digital.

David Pritchard holds an MBA from University of California at Berkeley and a BA from University of York, England.
