Maria has extensive experience in marketing and market research within retail and consumer markets. Prior to joining The NPD Group in 2013, she led the retail practice at Business Analytica, consulting major international and Russian companies in the FMCG segment. In 2014, Maria managed the launch of NPD’s Toys Retail Tracking Service in Russia, offering a unique instrument of tracking market performance and making data driven business decisions for manufacturers, licensors and retailers.
Maria is a graduate from the School of Economics at Moscow State University. She has a PhD in Economics.

In Russia, throughout most of 2018 there was a noticeable shift in consumer behavior around eating out, with the average individual check in foodservice was virtually flat compared to the same time period in 2017, while the average price per item on the menu increased.
