After the Recession of 2008-2009, analysts predicted that the recovery would result in a new economic normal. It turns out that the new normal is a one percent world. The U.S. economy grew just over one percent for much of 2016. The result has been that foodservice industry traffic has grown less than one percent for the past several years and will continue at that same pace into the near future.
