Port Washington, NY, January 20, 2016 – NPD Mexico, a subsidiary of The NPD Group, has purchased Segmenta’s prestige beauty point-of-sale retail tracking service for Mexico. The acquisition extends NPD’s global reach and expertise in prestige beauty, complementing NPD’s beauty tracking services in the U.S., Canada, France, Italy, Spain, and U.K.
Segmenta provides point-of-sale tracking for the prestige beauty industry based on information collected from department stores and specialty stores. The firm provides data on what is selling and where, down to the item-level for skincare, makeup and fragrances.

Samantha Grand, formerly Client Service Director for Segmenta and Latam Beauty Research, a joint venture of Segmenta and NPD, will become Client Development Director at NPD. David Jaime, with NPD Mexico since 2012, will be responsible for retail services as Retail Director. Both will report to Fernando Rubio.
