New Organization Will Support Additional Channel Coverage and Other Enhancements
Port Washington, NY, August 23, 2016 – The NPD Group announced it is reorganizing its Softlines Sector to include Luxury tracking services, which were previously operated independently. NPD’s Luxury services -- including sales tracking for Watches, Designer Jewelry, and Diamonds -- will move into NPD’s Softlines business group, led by Diane Nicholson. The reorganization follows the departure of former NPD Luxury President Fred Levin, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities.
The reorganization and integration of the business will facilitate a number of service enhancements now in development. This year NPD plans to introduce new retail channel tracking for watches and designer jewelry and begin reporting volumetrics for diamonds. It will also transition all Luxury data to its Web-based delivery tool, DecisionKey.
With the reorganization, Chris Casey, Vice President, Diamonds will continue to head that business, reporting to Nicholson. Lori Monaco, President for NPD’s Fashion Footwear and Accessories businesses, will also oversee Watches and Designer Jewelry, reporting to Nicholson.
Combining the Luxury businesses with its Softlines Sector will allow NPD to take advantage of numerous synergies with other tracking services in its portfolio, which cover Apparel, Footwear, and Accessories.
“Luxury is one of the most dynamic segments of the fashion business today and integrating these services into our Softlines Sector will be good for NPD and for our clients,” said Nicholson. “We’re excited to have a number of initiatives underway, and look forward to continuing to provide the industry with the broadest and deepest view of their markets and their customers.”
