Winners in nine categories were awarded during the 12th annual honors
Port Washington, NY, September 7, 2017 – Yesterday the Global Technology Distribution Council (GTDC) announced this year’s recipients of its esteemed U.S. Rising Star Awards, which recognize today’s leading technology companies for exceptional sales growth and market share performance through U.S. distributors over the past year. GTDC members drive more than $130 billion in annual worldwide sales of products, services and solutions through diverse business channels.
The GTDC’s 12th U.S. Rising Star Awards were presented in San Francisco, California, at an exclusive luncheon during the GTDC Vendor Summit. This year, 18 GTDC Rising Star winners were selected in the nine categories below, which span the scope of the IT channel. Two winners were awarded from each category based on year-over-year sales growth rates and highest total market share, as determined by The NPD Group’s Distributor Track®.
“Over the last year we’ve seen strong growth in a number of up-and-coming categories, as well as resiliency across the channel,” said Ian Hamilton, President, Technology Sector, The NPD Group. “We congratulate all of this year’s Rising Star Award winners, as their ability to adapt to change continues to drive growth and positions them as leaders in the channel.”
Rising Star Awards Methodology
Results for Rising Star Award winners are based on actual U.S. revenue and market share data over the past year, as reported by industry research organization The NPD Group using its Distributor Track® service. Available by subscription, Distributor Track aggregates actual distributor sell-through data to enable sharp insight into channel sales and pricing trends with the ability to dive into SKU-based details and drill down into specific product subcategories, including detailed attributes based on specific areas of interest. To be eligible for a Rising Star Award, vendors are required to have sold corresponding products through technology distributors for a minimum of two years and sell through at least two GTDC members.
