The NPD Group Expands Retail Tracking Service for Watches

Port Washington, NY, June 6, 2017 — Global information company The NPD Group has expanded its Retail Tracking Service to deliver the most comprehensive view of the U.S. watch market available. NPD’s data on watches now provides insight into hundreds of  brands and tens of thousands of models including smart watches, ranging from ‘main street’ to luxury.

The newly expanded watch information consists of retail sales information from NPD’s participating retailers in key channels of distribution including jewelry chains, national chains, mass merchants, department stores, and independent jewelers. Brand, model and a wide range of product attributes are available. This includes band and dial color, gender, price, case shape, size and diamond presence. Features like display size, GPS enabled, and operating system are just a few of those available for smart watches.
