The NPD Group to Launch Subscription Video Tracking

Subscription Video Track reveals video-streaming behavior, as the TV and movie content landscape undergoes significant changes

PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y., December 18, 2017– Global information provider The NPD Group today announced the upcoming launch of a consumer panel tracking service measuring the actual TV and movie viewing behavior at the title and episode level on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Hulu. Complementing NPD’s other products for the video-entertainment industry, Subscription Video Track offers companies insight into what subscribers are watching, the viewers of specific content, how valuable individual titles are to overall viewing rates, and longitudinal viewing trends.

NPD has integrated its Subscription Video Track service into an expanding product portfolio, including its new VideoScan service, which monitors DVD and Blu-ray sales based on information collected directly from retailers. NPD’s entertainment industry services also include Entertainment Trends in America and VideoWatch, giving the entertainment industry a wide-angle view across entertainment categories and sales channels.
