For the week ending May 3 total U.S. restaurant chain transactions were down 26% from year ago compared to a 32% decline the prior week and a decline of 43% the week ending April 12, the low point of the COVID-19 disruption.

While Total U.S. Restaurant Traffic Declines by 22% in March, Digital and Delivery Orders Jump by Over 60%

Restaurant traffic declined by 22% in March compared to year ago, but a testament to the U.S. consumers’ want for restaurant meals, digital orders increased by 63% and delivery by 67%.
